Betsy’s  background as a professional body builder, athlete, and coach combined with the fact that she is a woman who can relate to body image make her the perfect trainer. She will educate you on nutrition and offer a variety of amazing eating alternatives. Because of her I have discovered the love of oat based pancakes, almonds, and edamame! Betsy cheered me along when I had momentum and did not hesitate to kick my butt when I fell off the wagon. No excuses! I would never consider using another trainer. She just “gets it” and knows how to bring out the best YOU that you can be.

For the past two years, I have spent hours upon hours doing cardio on top of cardio. It got to the point where I would be working out 3 times a day just trying to “burn more calories.” I realized that even though I would sweat, my body just wasn’t feeling challenged anymore. I could practically run 5 miles and do an hour of dance cardio in my sleep. I was an athlete in high school and I realized that I missed the feeling of being SORE and worn out from working hard. So I came to Besty, and I’m finally feeling challenged again! I had no idea how to lift weights, but now I have a bunch of weighted exercises that I can continue to build on. My cardio is no longer long and slow, but quick and intense (and hard!) Also, being a vegan, I have always been concerned about fueling my body correctly for training – and Betsy has given me so many new ideas and recipes! I like to think that Betsy has helped me make a change in my lifestyle for the better, and I plan to keep it up!

Betsy has been inspirational, motivating, creative and tough – not only succeeding in helping me to focus but stay focused. When I met Betsy she was able to read beneath the surface and recognize that I needed cheerleading and support just to believe I could truly succeed with my personal fitness. Not only did just I want to lose the extra weight I had accumulated over the years but I wanted to look in a mirror and feel good, go shopping and enjoy it and get dressed in the morning and be ready for the day.

Since I met Betsy 6 months I have accomplished things I never thought possible. I could not run 2 feet and now I have run a 10K with 10 minute miles. I was overweight and a size 14 and now I am really fit and a size 8. I am super excited to develop my body and build my strength long term. Betsy keeps me so challenged and interested. And when I slack off she holds me accountable. Betsy has an exceptional amount of energy and is truly inspiring. She knows her stuff, especially how to work with women and our bodies. Betsy is knowledgeable and professional and the best part is she is so fun to spend an hour of my day with.

I’ve been training with Betsy for about 8 months and I like to be challenged! With the techniques Betsy has taught me, I have toned and strengthened my body which I hope will help me to stay in shape for the rest of my life. I feel better, I have more energy, strength & flexibility. In addition, I’m more toned than I have ever been. I have a better understanding of how each muscle group works, and how to incorporate these muscle groups into my workout. Betsy’s an extreme advocate on how nutrition plays a vital role in exercising or simply staying fit. When I attend a session, I’m always excited to see what different types of exercises she has planned. I respect her sensible and careful approach Betsy puts into our sessions and always answers my questions thoughtfully and truthfully. She is upbeat, positive, outgoing, and pushes you hard so you can achieve goals. She’s been instrumental in helping me achieve my personal fitness goals. I would highly recommend Betsy to anyone looking to work hard for desired goals whether it be strength training, weight loss, or training for a sporting event.

I am not a real fan of working out, and I’ve realized the only way I consistently work out is when I have a personal trainer: someone to hold me accountable to work out on a regular basis, to hold me accountable during the workout, and to challenge me more than I would if I were working out on my own. Specifically, my lower back had really started bothering me quite a bit over the previous 6-12 months. I had been to the doctor and had been to physical therapy, but nothing seemed to be helping. My daughter just seemed amused that mom was getting older and starting to have back problems. For me, it wasn’t as amusing. I felt too young to be having these types of issues already. A few years ago, Betsy held a summer boot camp, which I attended one day a week for about 45 minutes. She asked those of us in the group what we wanted to work on or what we needed to work on. As expected, we all said something different; my comment was to work on reducing stress and pain I fel t in my lower back when I would bend over. Betsy said I had a weak core and incorporated core exercises into our total workout. It was a tough workout, but I felt really good at the end of each session. After the 2 or 3 month boot camp ended, my core was MUCH stronger. Each workout was a mixture of cardio and strength training for the whole body, so my overall fitness was much better as well. I play softball, so the overall strength and improved cardio only helped me in softball as well. To this day, several years later, my lower back no longer bothers me, and I have Betsy to thank for that. I continue to try to make sure I’m keeping my core strong so I won’t have back issues again. I have had good workouts from other trainers, but no one has been as great of a trainer as Betsy. I wish I still lived somewhere near her. If I did, she would definitely be my personal trainer for life! Miss you, Betsy!
